2011 PSC Memorial Day Raft-Up!!!

Howdy pardners! Coil your lasso and dust off your ten gallon hat. It’s get’n to be time for the Wild, Wild West on the Chesapeake! This year the PSC Memorial Day Raft Up will 28-30 May. This year’s theme will be Cowboys, Cowgirls, and the Wild, Wild West!

Here's the plan:

Saturday, May 28th:

  • We raft up in Crab Alley Bay at the Northern End of Eastern Bay on Saturday the 28th of May. We will have various cowboy competitions and dude-produced entertainment to accompany our Home on the Range Feast.

Sunday, May 29th:

  • We cruise down to beautiful, historic St. Michaels to tie up and have dinner at the St. Michaels Harbour Inn Marina & Spa.
  • Dinner will be at the Harbour Inn, which is the nicest place in St. Michaels. It is on the second floor of the Harbour Inn, with a window view of the harbor and Miles River. Dinner will be $50 per person (collected by boat skippers at the raft up), which is only $5 more than what we spent in 2008. This price includes:
    • An appetizer bar consisting of :
           Confit Pork Spring Rolls with Sweet & Sour Dipping Sauce
           Spice Rubbed Grilled Shrimp with Cocktail Sauce
           Cream of Crab Soup with Sherry Teaser
           Fried Goat Cheese Salad with Orange Segments,
             Raspberries, Almonds, and Citrus Vinaigrette
    • Entrees served at your seat (one choice) of:
           Grilled Salmon over Artichoke Wild Mushroom Tomato Ragout
              with Sherry Cream Essence
           Veal Parmesan in a Rich Tomato Sauce over Linguini with Sautéed Spinach
           Grilled NY Strip with Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes,
              Grilled Asparagus and Shallot-Thyme Jus
           Grilled Vegetable Pasta with Artichokes in a Pesto Cream Sauce
               with Fresh Parmesan Cheese
    • Dessert Bar of :
           Seasonal Fruit Cobbler
           Chocolate Mouse
           Assorted Mini Cupcakes
           Fresh Sliced Fruit
           Fresh Whipped Cream
  •   Party, awards, more party, and other festivities.

Monday, May 30th:

  • We will drive the herd home.

More details:

  • There will be three club boats participating this year, plus two former STCs from PAX. We have reserved slips for up to six additional boats at the Harbour Inn. Price per individual on the club boats is $375 (does not include provisions, dinner at the Inn etc., just the space on the boat). Skippers go at half price and members may use up to 3 Frequent Volunteer Sea Miles (FVSM) to defray the cost of the trip.

  • The Harbour Inn is in the heart of St. Michaels, within easy walking distance to the Maritime Museum and St. Mary’s Square. The Harbour Inn offers complimentary bicycles, clean showers, a swimming pool, and a shuttle bus to the busy shopping areas. There are several bars, a computer with internet access and a spa on site.

  • Slip fees at Harbour Inn are $3.50 per foot (min $125), shore power is 30amps/110 at $8.00 per cord/day and 50amps/220 at $16.00 per cord/day. Skippers will be required to pay their own slip fees by 30 April. We anticipate water taxis will be $2 per person.
     

Signing up as crew or skipper:

  • A non-refundable down payment of only $100 reserves your place...balance is due NLT 30 days prior to departure date.
     

  • Price per person for the three day sail is $375 on either of three club boats.   Skippers go for half-price.  Prices includes early boarding on Friday, May 27th.
     

  • Members going on their first ever PSC Raft-Up will get a $50.00 discount.
     

  • One FVSM coupon may be used per day (i.e., up to 3 coupons may be used per person for a 3-day Raft-Up).

2. Boat Name, LOA, Draft, Type (i.e., sloop, catamaran, etc)
3. Name(s) of crew
4. Intention to join PSC Raft-Up Saturday night? (Yes/No)
5. Intention to join PSC in a marina Sunday night? (Yes/No)
5a. If yes, power needs are: none (1) (2)/30amp/ 50amp
5b  If yes, how many of you will be joining the PSC for dinner Sunday night?.

For private boat skippers, please indicate as soon as possible, your crew's dinner entrée selections might be.
