What's A Raft Up? It's
a big PSC sailing trip on the Chesapeake Bay scheduled during the three-day
holiday weekends. We call these flotillas "raft-ups" because we tie
the boats together, like a raft, when we anchor the first night in a cove. Often
we are joined by PSC members who own their own boats, and our rafts build to more than a dozen boats! The second night we stay at a marina and enjoy dinner
together in a local restaurant. The third day we set sail for our home ports.
Click here to see where we have
rafted-up in the past.
Can Anyone Go? Yes! All you have to be is a PSC member or a guest of
a member; NO SAILING EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY! Raft-ups are great fun! They provide
an opportunity to get to know fellow PSCers, crew on large sailing yachts, and
explore the Bay with experienced PSC skippers.
Can I Use Frequent Volunteer
Sea Mile Coupons? Yes! Members who have accrued Frequent Volunteer Sea Miles by volunteering for the PSC can use up to three FVSM coupons ($75) to offset
their own payment.
Whom Should I Pay? Send your payment and
Bay
Activities Registration Form to the PSC Treasurer who will forward your
information to the Raft-up Coordinator. Mail your completed
Bay Activities Registration Form and check payable to "Pentagon Sailing Club" to:
Larry Paulson
PSC Treasurer

Do PSC Skippers on Raft-ups Get Discounts? Yes! Skippers of PSC owned, leased or chartered boats pay half (50% off) the applicable Crew Rate and may use their FVSM coupons as mentioned above.
Do Raft-Up Coordinators Get Discounts? Yes! The designated Raft-Up Coordinator pays half (50% off) the applicable Crew Rate PLUS he/she also earns five FVSM coupons for coordinating the Raft-up. If the Raft-Up Coordinator is also assigned as the Skipper of a PSC owned, leased or chartered boat (already at 50% off), however, no further discount is applied; sorry. FVSM credits toward payments are still applicable, though.
How About Boat Owners? PSC Members with their own boats are encouraged to join us at no charge beyond marina slip fees and restaurant bills. Notify the Raft-Up Coordinator early so that marina and restaurant reservations can be made. Provide your boat's name, LOA (incl. bow pulpits, swim platforms, etc), beam, draft, power requirements and cell phone number.
I'm a Skipper, how does the raft-up process work? Click here for all the details on how to enter and depart a raft!
NOTES:
For 2009 PSC has two primary Chesapeake Bay Season Boats:

|
|
