PSC Club Member Notices - PSC Webmaster

This page is provided as a service to our Pentagon Sailing Club membership.  PSC members may submit notices for this page that they feel would be of interest to other members of the club.  This is where you may post a notice looking for members to crew or sail with you on your boat on a one-time or recurring basis, volunteering to crew on other members' boats, asking for help relocating boats, announcing other events/activities (sailing or non-sailing) that would interest club members, etc.  Notices will be posted for up to 30 days.  If a member wants their notice posted for longer than 30 days, the member must submit a new request every 30 days.  The decision to post or not post any submitted notice will be made by the PSC webmaster.  Club members may submit their notices (in Word format) to the PSC webmaster at webmaster@pentagonsailing.org.

Crew Wanted/Sailing Opportunities:

From Reg Vaval

Ahoy,

I am looking for somebody to sail with me on the Potomac (club boats of course). I am new to sailing and new to the Club. I took the KBS (ASA 101-103) last September, and need to practice. However I don’t feel comfortable enough to take the boats out solo. Any (more or less experienced) club member willing to share a boat and some tips with me on the Potomac ?  I was thinking of doing it mostly on weekdays (since I work mostly nights), but weekends are ok as well.

If interested, please contact me at regvaval@yahoo.com.

Thanks, Reg

Want to Crew:

If you are looking for another cost-sharing crew member for the traditional PSC BVI event this summer (even though PSC is not sponsoring such an event this year), I am interested in crewing and enjoying snorkeling, the islands, etc.  I have been a club member for at least 12 years, and have crewed on the PSC BVI event, in 2000 and 2008.  Although I would not be available in June, and would likely not be available for much of August, I should be available all July.  If interested, please contact me at Duane.Covino@verizon.net    Thanks

Looking for bay/coastal experience on boats in the 25-30 foot range.

Ahoy.  Kevin Kremer from PSC here.  Over the last three years, I’ve been fairly active in the river program.  I live east of DC in PG county.  I’m looking for bay/coastal experience on boats in the 25-30 foot range.  I’m ASA 101/103 certified.  My intent is to get more experience and participate in PSC’s ASA 104 in August.

I’d prefer long day sails or short trips up to three days. (Maybe longer if you need help moving a boat on the E Coast?) I’m fairly flexible with my schedule and destinations.  Its more about the experience!

I’m pretty low maintenance.  I'm even a decent guitar strummer, if you’d like some Jimmy Buffett style music.  I’m also certainly willing to share reasonable costs.

If you need a hand – I can be contacted at kremerk@earthlink.net.

Thanks for reading and enjoy the sailing season.

Kevin
