2020 Bridge Elections

This is your chance to join the PSC Bridge and make a difference!!


NOTICE

The annual PSC election will be held on Monday, 21 October 2019 during the October General Membership meeting at West Marine in Alexandria.

Online voting, the preferred voting method, will be opened up on October 1, 2019.

Members who don't vote on-line will have the opportunity to vote via paper ballot at the meeting on October 21st.

Nominations are now open and can be made at any time from the date of this notice through September 30th.

To nominate yourself or another member, send an email with the name of the nominee(s) to the Vice Commodore at vicecommodore@pentagonsailing.org.

If you are nominating someone other than yourself, ensure you have the member's concurrence beforehand.

The following Bridge positions are now open for nominations - all are for two year terms.

Vice Commodore, Treasurer, Secretary, Bay Commodore and, Training Commodore.

Responsibilities of these Bridge officers are outlines in paragraph 8 of the PSC Bylaws (https://www.pentagonsailing.org/bylaws) and are summarized as follows:

          • Vice Commodore.  (1) Serve as Commodore in the absence of the Commodore. (2) Coordinate the annual Holiday Party and Awards Dinner. (4) Oversee the Club awards program. (5) Manage insurance policies. (6) Conduct accident investigations. (7) Manage Bridge elections. (8) Oversee the Bylaws.
          • Training Commodore.  (1) Manage training programs. (2) Certify member sailing qualifications. (3) American Sailing Association Coordinator.
          • Bay Commodore.  (1) Manage Chesapeake Bay charters. (2) Coordinate charters outside of the Chesapeake Bay area.
          • Secretary.  (1) Prepare official correspondence and reports. (2) Maintain permanent files and records. (3) Responsible for Bridge meetings minutes.
          • Treasurer.  (1) Responsible for PSC finances. (2) Maintain financial records and prepare reports. (3) Manage receipts and disbursements. (4) Coordinate preparation of the Club’s budget. (5) File IRS and DC government forms.

You may write-in yourself or another member for one of these Bridge positions at the General Membership Meeting. It is important that you discuss an intended write-in with the person beforehand.
