We have a speaker!!! Dale Davis will present on:

60 Footer vs 30 Footer - Tough Decisions and Cruising Considerations for a Winter in the Keys and Bahamas.  

After sailing our Cabo Rico 56 to the Caribbean and back (> 5000NM) last season we have decided to sail south this winter aboard our Sea Sprite 30 (10,000lb displacement).  There was a day when sailing across an ocean aboard a 30 footer was normal and anyone on a 40 foot plus yacht was considered to be living large. Can we return to those sailing roots? Can we live without refrigeration? A shower,?  A queen sized master?  A microwave?  a 50 inch Smart TV and Bose Entertainment System? Seemingly endless storage? power winches?  and 550000lb displacement that makes 35 knots of wind seem like a gentle breeze below?  Discuss the coming season's cruising plans, the logic behind a difficult decision, preparations and concerns and solutions to the challenges of sailing a small boat on big oceans.
