Come join for a Wednesday Night Social Sail with PSC!!!

Here's your chance to take a little time after work (or maybe even leave the office early if you can) and join some of your fellow PSC members for an evening social sail on the Potomac.

Boats start departing the docks at 4:30 PM and every half hour after (or whenever a skipper has a boat full of people). All boats must be tied back up in their slips before sunset.

Come out and join us and practice your sailing. You might pick up a tip or be able to share your tips with each other in this relaxed atmosphere. Oh, did we mention that it's only $10 to participate (& free for Skippers)? How much better can it get?!

BUT WAIT, THERE's MORE! On the last Wednesday of each month, we will hold a Social Hour after we sail with FREE Club provided refreshments!

We hope to see you out on the water!

    ______________________________________________________________

NOTE TO ALL: Capacity is totally dependent on how many Skippers sign up. No skipper, no boat. If you are considering being a Skipper (see requirements below), but need some orientation and/or a bit more practice, let us know. We'll figure something out.

NOTICE: Due to very high demand, with significant waitlists for Club members, Guest registration is unavailable. If you wish to sail with family members, consider a Family Membership

NOTE: We are always looking for Skippers!

To be a Skipper on a Social Sail, a member must be pre-approved in accordance with the PSC Training and Qualifications Policy. Generally that requires: completing ASA 101/103, three sails on the Potomac within the past two years subsequent to 101/103, a Boater Safety Card, and having sailed once on the Potomac each season prior to Skippering.

Bay Sail - Labor Day Raft-Up (3-day sail)

    Boat: Sun Odyssey 449

    Skipper: Ross Rosiak

This is a multi-day social sail over the Labor Day weekend. We depart the marina on Saturday and meet other boats on the bay, join the rafting boats, and spend the day on the water.

    Location: TBD

The first night (Saturday) we anchor in the vicinity of the rafting boats. On the second night (Sunday), we dock in a Marina (TBA) and have dinner at local restaurant (TBA), get take out, or prepare meals on the boats (at each crew's preference).

Monday we return to our home ports.

This is a great multi-day experience, where you get to experience the liveaboard style, plus you get to raft-up with other boats. The sail is a great time to practice any skills you may need for a certification, or just to make sure you keep them sharp. If all you want is relax, there will be multiple fore-decks where you can do so.

Registration price only covers charter costs. Additional costs such as food, pump-out, fuel, and slip fees will be shared by the crew.

The charter boat is a monohull with four cabins (sleeping eight). You can check it out here.

Location: Click for direction to Port Annapolis Marina

    POC: Bob Blackwell LDRU Coordinator

Have questions? Please check our FAQ.

Depending on interest, we may be able to fill a second boat. Add your name to the waiting list if sail fills up.

A maximum of 1 FVSMs may be used for this sail. If you are using an FVSM(s), select the applicable LDRU with FVSM(s) payment option. Please check the FVSM spreadsheet to make sure you have FVSM(s) available before choosing either of these pricing options.

The 2022 annual Leukemia Cup will take place on Saturday, September 10th.  This charitable fundraiser supports the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and is the Potomac River's biggest annual regatta.  PSC will enter up to four boats in the competition.  Each boat will be skippered by an experienced PSC raising skipper, but the crews are open to all PSC members.  We'll rally up at Washington Marina at 8:00 am.  The regatta is followed by an awards ceremony, silent auction, and BBQ cookout at the Washington Sailing Marina.

This race is open to all PSC members.  If you're interested in participating, please contact the Racing Captain at racing@pentagonsailing.org for further details.  Current Racing Squadron members should sign up at Racing Sign-Up Sheet.
