Wondering if you are on a safe boat or if your own boat is really safe? If the Coast Guard boarded the boat you're on,  would it pass muster? If you're curious, OR if you would just like to socialize with fellow sailors (even if it is Zoom), then join us!  CDR Ronald Woody of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary will help us learn all about boat safety and what it takes to pass a boat inspection.

AND, if that weren't enough, we'll be giving one lucky participant a $25 West Marine eGift Card!

So please join us to start the season off right!

Bring a beverage and sign in to Zoom at 6:45 for an abbreviated social hour beforehand. It will be fun!

    BAY DAY SAIL

Bay sails are recreational and designed to build experience and provide an enjoyable time. They can be also a terrific training experience. You will find both novice and expert sailors making it a great chance to learn more. If you are interested in any particular technique, you can request the skipper to review it with you and the crew.

If you prefer to chill out, just sit back, relax and enjoy the sailing near (or under) the Bay Bridge, alongside old lighthouses, and even a stop for lunch at a dockside bar.

Bay sails are an amazing way to progress towards your Bay Skipper certification, refresh your knowledge acquired through ASA or other programs, "upgrade" your ASA101/103 experience, prepare for ASA104 (or your first Caribbean charter), or to introduce someone else to the world of sailing.

Have questions? Please check our FAQ.

    Returning Bay Skippers for 2021

This is a general call for current PSC Bay Skippers who are interested in doing bay sails for the 2021 sailing season.  This will help to update the Club's Bay Skipper roster and provide an active skipper list for use by the Bay and Training Commodores.

Included with this call for volunteer skippers, registrants can opt to volunteer for any ASA training they are qualified to provide, such as 104, 114 or 118.

A ROR exam will be sent to all registrants to be completed at their leisure, but it must be completed with a passing score of 95% before they conduct any PSC Bay Sails as SOR.

PSC Bay Skipper Candidates should not register for this event, but should reference the Bay Skipper Program page for details.  Bay Skipper Candidates should focus on their checklists and building hours.

Bay Sail - Labor Day Raft-Up (3-day sail)

Boat: Dufour 430 Monohull or a Fountaine Pajot 40 Catamaran

    Skipper: TBA

This is a multi-day social sail over the Labor Day weekend. We depart the marina on Saturday and meet other boats on the bay, raft-up, and spend the day on the water.

The first night we anchor, and then reconnect with the other boats. On the second night (Sunday), we dock at Harrington Harbor North and have dinner at Dockside, get take out, or prepare meals on the boats (at each crew's preference).

Monday we return to our home ports.

This is a great multi-day experience, where you get to experience the liveaboard style, plus you get to raft-up with other boats. The sail is a great time to practice any skills you may need for a certification, or just to make sure you keep them sharp. If all you want is relax, there will be multiple fore-decks where you can do so.

Registration price only covers charter costs. Additional costs such as food, pump-out, fuel, and slip fees will be shared by the crew.

The charter boat is a monohull with four cabins (sleeping eight). You can check it out here (layout 2)

Location: Click for direction to Port Annapolis Marina

    POC: Pablo Destefanis

Have questions? Please check our FAQ.

Depending on interest, we may be able to fill a second boat. Add your name to the waiting list if sail fills up.

A maximum of 2 FVSMs may be used for this sail. If you are using an FVSM(s), select the applicable MDRU with FVSM(s) payment option. FVSMs may not be combined with the 1st Timer Discount. Please check the FVSM spreadsheet to make sure you have FVSM(s) available before choosing either of these pricing options.
