Piloting and Navigation

Two classes - must attend both.

  • Part 1 is February 23rd
  • Part 2 is March 1st

Registration covers both parts

Piloting involves navigating a vessel in restricted waters and fixing its position as precisely as possible at frequent intervals. Team PSC will help you learn, among other things, lines of position, dead reckoning, ranges, estimated positions, running fixes, and danger bearings. This is a two day class and is part of the ASA 105 certification. 

Participants must have a 'Nav Kit' for this course.  Participants who need a 'Nav Kit' can purchase one through PSC for just $40 dollars.  This offer is good for registrations that occur before January 30th.

This kit should include: 

(1)  6" fixed point dividers (item #262),

(2)  nautical slide rule (item #105), and

(3)  compact parallel plotter (item #60)
