2022 101/103 Instructor OTW - Morning Session

(If the morning session fills quickly and we have more interest, we will open an Afternoon Session as well)

This OTW is intended for members who have registered to be a Lead or Primary Instructor in one of our 101/103 courses for 2022.  Assistants may attend, but priority will be given to those who will be a lead or primary.  If you register as an assistant and all spots fill up for instructors, your registration will be cancelled.

This OTW satisfies the requirement that Skippers must sail on the river at least once in the current season before they take students out as an instructor for a class in accordance with the River Safety Policy.

Session Format:

• 4 Hours
• 1 SOR (Lead Instructors) and 3 Crew per boat

Session Objectives:

• Discuss general safety procedures and identify training areas
• Review 101/103 Instructor Checklists
• Follow all boat inspection and checkout procedures
• Practice docking and close quarters maneuvering
• Practice general maneuvering under power and sail
• Practice anchoring, reefing and heaving to
• Follow all boat return and clean up procedures
• Provide General Boat Feedback for River Commodore
