    Festivities

    1. Keeping with the theme  Give My Regards to Broadway- Broadway Musicals,  each boat is asked to select a Broadway Musical - any musical from any year will do.

    2. Boat crews should get in the spirit of the raft up by decorating their boat. As a minimum each boat is encouraged to play songs from their selected Musical and print out and display the show’s Broadway Poster. Keeping it simple on the poster is fine - an 8.5x11 print out on copy paper using your home computer and displaying it in the cockpit is easy and will help you get in the spirit of the evening.

    3. Other decorations and character costumes are very welcome.  And in keeping with the tradition of PSC raft ups, a theme drink based on your Musical is a nice touch. For the drink consider both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options.

    4. Lets Light up the Raft Like Broadway. All boats are encouraged to put up some decorative lights - battery LEDs are cheap, easy to rig  and available on Amazon.

    5. The “Shows” start when the raft is secured and crews have had a chance to freshen up and decorate their boats.

    6. So make it a point to visit your neighboring boats and see their Musical , catch-up with existing friends, make new ones and generally relax and have a good time.

Contests Contests for a raft up are a lot of fun. For this year’s LDRU we will have the following:.

    1. Best-decorated boat:  the boat that best exemplifies the theme and spirit of the raft up.

    2. Best Costume:  the person or persons with the best costume.

    3. Best theme-related drink:  Consider having both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options.

    4. Guess the Favorite Musical. Each boat is asked to provide the name of their favorite Broadway Musical AND to guess, of the boats on the raft, what will be the overall favorite musical.

The LDRU Coordinator will be reaching out to boats to provide “Theater Critics” for the contests. The “Theater Critics” choices for each category will be announced and prizes awarded at Sunday’s dinner

We look forward to seeing you. Please pass the information about this event to anyone who may be interested. Let me know if you have any questions.
